With Season 4 of Amazon's hit animated series premiering March 18, 2026, Invincible is everywhere. March has officially become "Invincible Month"Image Comics is bringing the original series back to print, continuing Invincible Universe: Battle Beast, and releasing a wave of new variant covers for the first time in years.

Today we're breaking down why Invincible #1 variants matter, what's happening this March, and introducing our new Marco Mastrazzo Exclusive to you today.

1. The Legacy of Invincible

Unlike Spider-Man or Batman, Invincible doesn't have ongoing monthly issues to fuel collector demand. The original 144-issue run ended in February 2018 — three years before the animated series premiered in March 2021.

With the lack of Invincible in the comic market, this left fans and collectors of the series to look to the past, with the original run in low print this causes Invincible issues to only rise in value year after year.

2. The Demand for Invincible Variants and Exclusives

With the lack of new Invincible issues in production, this meant that the few reprints released were extremely desired and instant sell-outs. Past exclusives like Tyler Kirkham's Whatnot "Battle Damaged" set (limited to 1,000–1,500 copies each) sold out instantly and now command premiums on the secondary market.
